The Best Part of a Surprise Is the Planning

A surprise cake is easy to bake and surprisingly easy to spoil.

Most surprises are given away by small things: a courier calling the wrong phone, a delivery photo arriving on a shared tablet, a cake box left at the door before the birthday person has left the villa. We plan around these details with you before the cake is made.

You choose who receives the cake. It can be a friend at the party, the villa manager, the hotel reception or the restaurant where you have booked a table. The courier gets in touch with this second contact, by a call from a Thai number or a message on WhatsApp, and never with the one being surprised.

The photo of the finished cake goes to you, the person who ordered it, and the handover is discussed with the second contact. If the person you are surprising can see your phone, tell us, and we will keep photos and reminders away from that number.

Your words can travel with the cake: a short line on top and a longer message on a card next to it. Candles can be added to the surprise; depending on the type, they may be complimentary or have an extra charge, and we’ll confirm this with you before payment. Tip: Write the card text and the name exactly as they should appear, and send them as text, not as a voice message.

How to Plan a Surprise Delivery

Four decisions that keep the secret until the very last moment.

  1. Pick the Person Who Receives It

    Choose someone who will be at the place and knows about the plan. A friend who is in on it, a villa manager or the restaurant host are all good choices. Send us their name and phone number, and warn them that they may get a call from an unfamiliar Thai number or a WhatsApp message from the courier, so that it is not ignored.

  2. Decide Where the Cake Waits

    The cake needs a fridge and a hiding place until the moment it appears. In a villa, that may be the staff kitchen or a neighbor’s fridge. In a restaurant, the staff keep it cold and bring it out on your signal, so plan the delivery at least an hour before dinner.

  3. Time It Around Their Day

    Think about where the person will be when the cake arrives. A delivery during a beach trip or a spa appointment is easier to hide than one at breakfast. If the timing has to be tight, say so early: a narrow delivery window is agreed in advance and can cost more. The courier can wait about 5–⁠10 minutes at the address, so ask your contact to be in place a little before the agreed time.

  4. Keep Your Own Chat Discreet

    Order from a phone that the person does not see, or ask a friend to stay in touch with us for you. The design and the photo of the finished cake come to you only, while the delivery details stay with the second contact, so nothing appears on a shared screen before the moment.

How do you keep the cake a secret?

We agree in advance who receives the cake, and the courier contacts only that person. If you share a phone, tablet or WhatsApp account with the one you are surprising, tell us, and we will not send photos or reminders that could give the plan away.

Can the villa manager or a restaurant receive the cake?

Yes. Send us their name, phone number and the address or booking time. The courier calls or writes to them before arrival, and they keep the cake in the fridge until the moment you choose.

Can you add a card with my message?

Yes. Put a short line on the cake and the longer message on a card that comes with it. Send the text exactly as it should be written, including the name.

Can I send a surprise cake from another country?

Yes. Arrange everything on WhatsApp and pay by PayPal or international bank transfer. We deliver the cake to the person or to the contact you name in Phuket.

Can you add candles to the surprise?

What if the person is not where we expected?
