Every card opens its own album of cakes for that exact birthday, so you can compare an 18th with a 30th or a 60th. Pick a style you like as a starting point and tell us the age, the name and the colors of the party.

The Birthdays Everyone Remembers

Some birthdays are bigger than the rest, and the cake is where the number is on display.

An 18th or a 21st marks the start of adult life, a 30th is a good excuse for a party with old friends, and a 50th or a 60th often brings the whole family together, sometimes from several countries at once. We are asked most often for 18th to 21st birthdays, birthdays in the twenties and 50ths; a 40th comes up less often. In Phuket these birthdays happen in villas, on boats, at beach restaurants and in hotel suites, and we plan the cake around that setting.

The age can be shown any way you like: as a topper, as a number in cream, spelled out in letters or tucked into a joke such as “Twenty Fine” or “Aged to Perfection”. Around it go the things that make the cake personal: the name, a hobby, favorite flowers or a color you know the guest of honor loves.

A round birthday also changes the guest list. A couple celebrating a 30th on vacation needs a Small or Medium cake, while a 50th with relatives and friends often calls for a Large or Two-⁠Tier cake. Matching cupcakes are an easy way to stretch one design over a long party table.

Ideas for Each Milestone Age

Every round number has its own mood. Here is how we usually think about each one.

  1. 18th Birthday: The First Adult Party

    An 18th is often celebrated with friends rather than family, so the cake can be fun and a little daring: bright colors, a big 18, the name in bold letters and a short line from the friends who ordered it. A bento cake with an inside joke works for a small group, and a Medium or Large cake with matching cupcakes suits a party at a villa. The 18th album above shows both directions: soft vintage piping with “Sweet 18” and a two-⁠tier cake with a big number and stars.   2. 21st Birthday: Gold and Big Plans

    In some countries 21 is the big coming-⁠of-⁠age birthday, so the cake can feel more grown up than at 18: gold or silver details, a clean white or black base, the number 21 on top and a message about the years ahead. A key topper, the old symbol of turning 21, can be made for the cake as well. The 21st album above has a crown, drips, macarons and a playful “21 years later” cake to start from.   3. 30th, 40th and 50th: Style Grows Up

Do you make cakes for 18th and 21st birthdays?

Yes, and each of these two ages has its own album on this page. The age can be a topper, a number in cream or a word in letters, together with the name and a short message, and a 21st can carry a key topper. Pick a cake from the album, send a reference picture or describe the style on WhatsApp, and we will suggest a design for the size you need.

Does the age have to be on the cake?

No. Some people would rather not show the number, and then we make the cake with the name and a greeting only. If you do want the age, it can be as loud or as quiet as you like: a tall topper, small figures in cream, the word written out or a joke about the years.

Which size should we order for a milestone party?

Count the guests who will have a slice. A Small bento serves 2–⁠3 people, a Medium maxi bento 4–⁠6, a Large cake 8–⁠12 and a Two-⁠Tier cake 14–⁠28. For a bigger party, add cupcakes in the same colors so everyone gets a portion.

Can relatives abroad order the cake for someone in Phuket?

Yes. Family and friends can order on WhatsApp from anywhere, pay through PayPal or an international bank transfer, and we deliver the cake to the hotel, villa or restaurant in Phuket. A card with a longer message can travel with the cake.

Can the cake be a surprise at the party?

Yes. Tell us who will receive the cake, for example a friend, the villa manager or the restaurant, and the courier will call that person before arrival instead of the guest of honor.
